Essar Power has announced the completion of Mahan-Sipat transmission line project which has been built at an investment of Rs 2,400 crore. In a press release the company informed that t has commissioned the 337-km Mahan-Sipat transmission line, the final leg of a 465-km transmission system consisting of three interstate transmission lines. This 400 kV transmission line will help the company’s 1,200 MW Mahan Thermal Power Plant in Madhya Pradesh to evacuate its entire generation.
Essar Power Transmission Company has built the Mahan-Sipat transmission line which is part of the Inter State Transmission System. The transmission line extends from Mahan in Madhya Pradesh to the Sipat pooling station in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, which is connected to the National Grid.
With the commisoning for this project, Essar Powers' power generation capacity now stands at 3,830 MW across six coal- and gas-fired plants in India and one in Canada.
