Emami Cement, a Emami Group company, is in the process of setting up a plant at Panagarh in West Bengal. The total capacity of this cement plant will be of 2 million tonnes per annum (mpta) and is expected to be completed by December.
The group has also plans to increase its cement business in the next 5-7 years by setting up cement plants in Rajasthan and Karnataka.
“We have plans to set up cement plants in Rajasthan and Karnataka. After that we will have a national footprint in cement in the next five to seven years,” said Aditya Agarwal, Director, Emami Group.
The company has also plans to set up cement plant in Odisha having a total capacity of 1.5 mtpa.
Emami Cement 5 mtpa clinker plant in Chhattisgarh has commenced operation.
“From cement, we expect annual revenue of about Rs. 2,500 crores to Rs. 3,000 crore per year,” Agarwal added.
