Ashok Leyland showcases its range of fully built logistics vehicle solutions

Ashok Leyland, flagship of the Hinduja Group, and the 2nd largest commercial vehicle manufacturer in India, showcased its range of fully built logistics vehicles.

Present at the occasion, Anuj Kathuria, President – Global Trucks, Ashok Leyland, said, “Logistics sector in India is witnessing a trajectory of growth and is expected to pace at a CAGR of 16%. While the inflow on new investments will create new opportunities in this sector, the ‘Make in India’ campaign will see these investments connect India to global markets. Scope of improvement of efficiencies is huge as India spends around 14% of its GDP on logistics and transportation compared to 8% in other developing countries. With a renewed push from the government for infrastructure and integrated, multi-modal logistics and transport policy, we expect a lot of improvements in this sector. Estimates of this sector are projected to be worth $370 billion by the year 2020. Trucks are the most popular mode, 65% of freight in India, translating into a big opportunity for manufacturers like us to contribute to the positive change in making our country’s logistics sector globally competitive.

“The truck segment in the logistics sector, where we have around 45% market share, is expected to grow at 10% YoY. We want to further strengthen our position through our vehicles, offering the latest in technology, which help our customers earn better margins and superior efficiencies. Developed on our brand philosophy, ‘Aapki Jeet, Hamari Jeet’, our ready-to-use, fully built, customisable vehicles are developed specifically for Indian market and conditions. Our target consumers include ecommerce companies, automobile companies, organised logistics players and vendors of all such companies who are consistently moving across the length and breadth of our country to deliver to their customers.”

Ashok Leyland has been at the forefront of technology and innovation when it comes to vehicular needs of the logistics sector. Ashok Leyland provides a single window, one stop solution for customers who get CMVR compliant vehicles which eliminates the time spent in getting permissions from RTO. Ashok Leyland understands its customers and also understands that better the up-time, better are the revenues. Hence, all the fully built vehicles provided by the company are ready to use on the day of delivery (day 1 earning) which translates into savings of approximately two EMIs or up to Rupees one lac.

Ashok Leyland vehicles are equipped with the best in safety and technology. The latest in offering and developed in-house, the ‘i-Alert’ technology constantly monitors the health of the vehicle. Parameters include temperature of the engine, oil levels, air pressure levels and other critical functions which, if not monitored, may result in unplanned down-time. All Ashok Leyland products are supported by 'workshop on wheel' where on-site support is provided for essential maintenance and repair for best-in-class up-time. Ashok Leyland fully built container trucks are preferred for their superior quality, fit and finish.
