Charotar Gas plans to invest Rs13 crore in next two years

Mumbai, Oct (EPC News): Charotar Gas Sahakari Mandali Ltd, India’s only city gas distributor (CGD), will be investing Rs13 crore before Vibrant Gujarat 2011, said A J Parmar, Managing Director to EPC World.

The investment would be mainly for compressed natural gas (CNG) business, and to enhance our city gas distribution network, he said. In the current financial year, the company will be investing Rs7 crore.   

Through its CGD business, the company has provided 10,000 domestic connections, 250 commercial, and 100 industrial. “We are also planning to provide 5000 more domestic connection,” he said.    

CNG business

In2006, the company has joined hands with hydrocarbon major, Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Ltd (GSPCL) entered the CNG business and supply piped gas.

“We have started one CNG station at Vallabh Vidya Nagar in Anand, Gujarat, and two more planned at Borsad and Mogar Village near Anand,” said Parmar.
