Mumbai, Sep (EPC News): Cement prices have increase by Rs25 per 50 kg bag in Southern region, says cement dealers in the key market of region. “The price hike is mainly because of cartelization by the regional players as they were incurring cash losses in some clusters,” says a source.
As per the dealers, the southern companies are believed to cut down production to maintain such a steep hike in price. Dealers are of the view that a price hike of Rs25 per bag is unlikely to sustain.
The price hikes have been initiated by all the regional players including India Cements, Madras Cements, Dalmia Cement, Chettinad Cement and others.
