Mumbai, Feb (EPC News): Jindal Steel and Power Ltd has received a conditional nod from the Ministry of Forest and Environment for its six million tonne per annum steel plant and 1,000 MW captive power plant at Kerjang, Angul in Orissa.
Besides requesting JSPL to concentrate 2% of its net profit to CSR activities, the ministry has suggested JSPL to adopt dry quenching in coke oven plant to conserve water, use 100 per cent fly ash generated for cement and brick manufacturing and back filling in the captive coal mine and abandoned coal mines.
Further, the Ministry has asked JSPL to develop 33% of the area and use coal gasification technology for manufacturing steel and adopt rainwater harvesting measures.
