3:26 PM (WED): Nirma cement plant should be relocated : MoEF

Gujarat, May, 11 (EPC News): The ministry of environment and forests (MoEF) has put a blow to Nirma’s plans for its Rs 450 crore cement plan in Bhavnagar district of Gujarat. The ministry’s expert appraisal committee submitted its report to Supreme Court ordering the relocation of the Nirma cement plant.

The Rs450-crore plant to be raised on the land allotted under the Vibrant Gujarat' programme by the Narendra Modi government was opposed by localites. Soon a public interest litigation was filed by local farmers demanding the closure of the Nirma cement plant.
