Mumbai, May, 18 (EPC News): Gamesa Wind Turbines Pvt Ltd, the Indian subsidiary of Spain’s Gamesa Group, acquired orders worth $2 billion for 2,000 MW wind turbines from the Caparo Energy Ltd. Phase-I of the project will be initiated by early 2012 and the order is expected to be completely delivered within a timespan of six years. Through this strategic agreement, Gamesa will overlook the supply of wind turbines and erection procedures whereas permission approvals for the project will be acquired by Caparo.
“We target to double the manufacturing capacity in India to 1,000 MW by September, with an initial investment of Rs500 crore,” informed Ramesh Kymal, Chairman and Managing Director of Gamesa Wind Turbines Pvt Ltd.
