Mumbai, July, 19 (EPC News): Ruias-led Essar Ports has commissioned 12 million tonne expansion at its Vadinar terminal in Gujarat at a cost of Rs1,065 crore. The company’s target to double its ports capacity to 158 million tonne by 2013, has ensured the company in venturing into the recent expansion plan. With this the port’s capacity will go up to 58 million tonne per annum, taking Essar's total capacity to 88 million tonne per annum. Capacity addition plan is line with the company’s refinery expansion to 18 million tonne as part of the phase 1 expansion which will be raised to 20 million tonne, scheduled to be completed by September 2012.
