Mumbai, Apr, 13 (EPC News): The state of Jharkhand is in receipt of Rs15,300 crore annual plan from the Central Planning Commission.
The government statement mentioned, "The Rs.15,300-crore plan was finalised at a meeting in New Delhi between Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia and Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda".
The Chief Minister also informed to Monetk Singh, about the high prevailing poverty in the state despite 54% of the natural resources. Although the per capita income of state has been on rise in last few years, but around 15% of income is sourced from mining activities that employs 2.25% of the population.
Ahuwalia said that the Planning Commission was fully aware of prevailing circumstances and efforts of the state government, and pointed out that public-private partnership will have to be further encouraged in the development of both physical and social infrastructure.
According to estimates, the State Gross Domestic Product of Jharkhand during 2004-2005 increased from Rs59,766 crore to Rs79,663 crore in 2009-10 at the constant of 2004-05 prices.
