Mumbai, May, 21 (EPC News): Aggreko has successfully commissioned a 6.6 MW gas-fuelled power package for Kaveri Gas Power Limited (KGPL). This would be Aggreko’s first step into gas-fuelled multi-megawatt projects in India.
Aggreko, a temporary power and control service supplier entered into a contract with KGPL when power supply was reduced to the Taiml Nadu because of the breakdown of an alternator at a state-owned gas turbine plant. Operations of Aggreko by providing a customized power package of 6.6 MW, including a step-up transformer to achieve high voltage output of 11 KV enabled the state to cope with the problems of power shortages. This successful operation enabled the company to bag another commissioning order from KGPL.
