Mumbai, June, 29 (EPC News): Karma Energy, the subsidiary of Weizmann Ltd plans to invest Rs240 crore to set up a 60 MW power project at Dhule in Maharashtra. The project is estimated to be operational by2013.
"The land we have acquired is a forest land. It has cleared stage one. The land will be procured in six months time and we will start our work there," said Karma Energy Managing Director G N Kamath.
The company which is currently investing Rs30-40 crore per annum in projects, also plans to shed an investment of Rs75-100 crore in the coming years. Commissioning for the firms first 3.5 MW hydel power project at Bhatot in Himachal Pradesh will commence from this August and the 4MW project in the same district will be functional within 2 years.
