Sterlite Tech receives over Rs 600 cr in new contracts

Sterlite Technologies, a leading global provider of wire and cable solutions for the power and telecom industry has announced that in November 2009 it has received over Rs 600 crore in new contracts for its telecom and power products from prominent incumbents in India and Africa. Based on the delivery schedules required by its clients, over 30% of the cumulative contract value will be executed within FY10 and the balance within H1 FY11. The total order book of the company stands at approximately Rs 2050 crore as on November 30, 2009.

The company's current optical fiber facility of 6 million km is already under expansion to 12 million km, which would be fully established in this current fiscal. Sterlite further has decided to enhance this facility to 20 million km. The company’s conductor capacity of 160,000 metric tons will also be fully operational by the end of the current fiscal.
