Canadian Co bags LPIA contract

Canada, June (EPC News):The Nassau Airport Development Company (NAD) announced that it has awarded Canadian-based Ledcor Construction the contract for the terminal building component of stage one for the Lynden Pindling International Airport's redevelopment project.

The company was one of three to submit bids for consideration. Stage one of the LPIA redevelopment includes construction of a 247,000 sq ft US Departures Terminal and Pier, approximately 1,000,000 sq ft of asphalt apron, expanded parking facilities and new roadways. Construction is expected to start next month. The US Departures Terminal is scheduled to be completed by the first quarter of 2011. Earlier this year, NAD secured $265 million in financing for this stage of the airport development project.
