Jaypee Group to invest Rs 6,000 cr in Gujarat cement unit

Gujarat, Dec (EPC News): Jaypee Group plans to invest around Rs 6,000 crore by 2012 at the cement manufacturing unit in Gujarat. "The Jaypee group has plans to invest around Rs 6,000 crore in the cement manufacturing sector in Gujarat in the coming three years," the group's founder, Jaiprakash Gaur, said.

Jaypee group's flagship company Jaiprakash Associates' 2.4 million tonnes per annum capacity cement plant at Sewagram in Kutch was inaugurated by the Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Modi, recently.

Jaiprakash Associates has made an investment of Rs 1,500 crore in the first phase and commissioned 2.4 MTPA cement plant at Sewagram in Kutch. The greenfield plant was completed in a record time of 33 months after the acquisition of land in 2006-end.
