Cement production up on industry demand

Mumbai, Oct (EPC News): Cement production registered a growth of 6.5% in September 2009 compared to 8.1% in September 2008. Cement Production grew by 12.3% (provisional) during April-September 2009-10 compared to an increase of 5.5% during the same period of 2008-09.

Finished (carbon) steel Finished (carbon) Steel production (weight of 5.13% in the IIP) registered a growth of (-) 0.4% (provisional) in September 2009 compared to 2.1% (estimated) in September 2008. Finished (carbon) Steel production grew by 3.0% (provisional) during April-September 2009-10 compared to an increase of 3.3% during the same period of 2008-09.
